Experience the feeling of swishing along on a dog sled behind a bunch of powerful huskies and get the chance to learn about the nature, huskies and the life in Swedish Lapland.
What is hiding in the deep forests around Jokkmokk?
We travel over ice-covered lakes, frozen mires and through snow-covered forests, and we tell you about the landscape we travel through. Many are the wild animals that move here. We show you the winding tracks across the white snow and with dog sled we travel relatively quiet so sometimes we are lucky enough to see any of the animals.
You sit as a passenger on the dogsled with an experienced guide steering the dog team. During the tour we stop to barbecue pork, sausages and boil coffee over and open fire. Here you get the chance to greet and hang out with our social, kind and loving huskies and we are happy to answer any questions you may have.
We warmly recommend this trip to anyone who wants an easier nature and dog sledding experience.
Price: 1500 Sek/person Includes: warm clothes and boots, barbeque, coffee/tea, a seat on the sled (4 seats/sled). The trip lasts for approx. 3 hours

How physically demanding will it be?

On the 1-hour, 3-hours and Northern lights tours you will sit as a passenger on the sled while we are steering the sled. On the sledge, it’s a kind of bench you’re sitting across. You must therefore be able to sit wide apart with your legs and be able to bend your legs 90 degrees. Up to 4 persons can sit on a sled and you must sit very close to each other.
If you are a very big person (heavy weight) it can cause problems for the dogs and the space on the sledge. If so, you must notify us when booking.

On the Day tour, you will handle and drive your own dogsled. How physically demanding it will be depends very much on the snow and weather conditions during the tour. But, to go dogsledding requires that you have good balance and are reasonable fit.
In up-hills and heavy snow conditions you must help your dogs by kicking beside the sled and sometimes also run and push the sled in steep up-hills. You also need to have in mind that you will be physically active outside in the cold for many hours.

Children are not allowed to drive their own dog team. To bring babies or very small children on outdoor activities for many hours in winter are not recommendable at all.

If you are unsure if you can take part don’t hesitate to send us an email and tell us about yourself and your worries. Women seem to underestimate them self very often, while men sometimes overestimate their own physical capacity. On our tours, we have people from all over the world of all genders and ages up to 70 years and older.
