Freezing Lapland!
“Finally” the cold arrived! -20°C.
Now the ices become thicker and safer. We have had some problem with all the water that came upon the ice with the “warmer” temperatures we had for the last days.
Hopefully the cold weather will stay for a couple of days.
We train the dogs as usual but Stina and I have to put on the warm winter clothes. Wool closest to the skin is needed!

The Hard School of Lapland (HSL) Part 1.
This is not a school where you have to go through a registration procedure.
The technique of studying is as easy as it is effective for most of us.
You learn by your mistakes or as it say in the curriculum: “If the head is stupid the body has to suffer”.
Today’s lesson: If you leave a skidoo on the ice and it comes water upon the ice the skidoo will get stuck there when the temperature get below cero.
We have now trained this exercise and hopefully we don’t need to repeat the lesson again…
With some help of axes, shovels and a skidoo lift we finally got the old lynx machine loose.
After the liberation action we equipped ourselves with ice rescue equipment and took of with the skidoo’s and groomed a part of the trail that we later will use for dogsledding.
Take care

Winter adventures from an office chair…
All adventures don’t have to take place in the woods or up on the mountains.
For us could things be greater adventures than a little snow storm as for example that you now can find us in the socialising crowd in cyber space on facebook.
Another “office adventure” is that we have started a cooperation with Markus Tiburzi on OMY to come forward with our website. If you follow us on the web you will hopefully see a better “presence” from us.
Not enough with these adventures… we have also started to cooperate with EUDO-konsult a consulting firm that in principle will be our extern economy office. The time that we save will we spent to get better on answering mails and to help all our guests with their planning of their Lapland adventure.
Besides this is the November winter the same as ever. One day you look up to the sky and wonder why it doesn’t come any snow. Next day you work your self sweaty by digging out the snow blower…

Sled dogs needs premium dog food.
After several month of searching we have finally found a new dog food that will be suitable for our dogs and our philosophy. We have chosen to not relinquish our demands on the quality of the food to save a coin or two. We have search the whole dog food market and after hours in phone with dog food manufactures, mushers, veterinarians etc. we have finally chosen Greenheart-Premiums.
Greenheart-Premiums are manufactured by Frans Weisscher a Dutch musher. A man who has his passion in his own huskies and therefore put his heart and soul into the process of making a good dog food.
Read more about Greenheart on: www.greenheart.se
After the season 2009/2010 we will know if the dog food is as great as anyone say it is.
